Carter Gowrie, President and CEO
A lifelong boater and international small boat racer Carter is a graduate of Union College in Schenectady, NY. Carter is an active member of the US SAILING Association and the architect of the successful Burgee Program for Yacht Clubs. He resides with his wife and five children in Old Saybrook, CT.

Chris Pesce, Secretary and Managing Partner
Chris hales from the south shore of Long Island, NY where he spent his days boating, fishing, claming, skiing and surfing. In the process of achieving his Bachelors degree in Business Administration and Finance at Saint Joseph's College he interned for Maritime General Agency, which then resided in Northport, L.I., NY. In 1995 Chris started as the Yacht Underwriter and advanced to Department Manager, Commercial Underwriter and in 1999 became General Manager while moving the operations up to Westbrook, CT.

Skip Young, President GBY
A competitive sailor and international racer, Skip sails his J105 from Duck Island Marina in Westbrook, CT. Skip began his insurance career at Paul Revere where he managed the CT operations for many years before starting Gowrie's benefit company. Skip resides in Guilford, CT with his three daughters and grandson.

Ed Gumbrecht, Partner and COO
A native New Yorker, Ed is an alumnus of the State University of NY at Albany, and an insurance industry veteran. He joined GBB in 2003 after an eighteen year career with Aetna Casualty and Chubb Corp. Ed managed Claim, Underwriting, Administration, HR and Marketing for carriers, and consulted for many of the biggest companies in the insurance business. He resides in Madison with his wife and two daughters.

John Fisher, Partner GBB
The founder of Fisher and Fisher Associates, Inc. of Darien Connecticut, who merged with GBB in early 2007. John has 25 years of property casualty, risk management and personal risk advisory insurance experience at the corporate, agency and individual levels. A life long boater, sailor and ocean racer, John resides with his wife and three children in Darien.
