Carter Gowrie, Managing Director
Carter Gowrie is the founding partner of Gowrie Group, which he began in 1974. Today, Gowrie Group has over 175 employees and provides a broad range of insurance solutions to more than 14,000 clients nationwide. Carter is the architect of the highly successful “Burgee Program”, Gowrie’s specialty insurance program for yacht clubs and sailing organizations. He is a lifelong boater, an internationally accomplished sailboat racer and an active member of US Sailing. Carter is a graduate of Union College in Schenectady, NY. He resides in Essex, CT. John Fisher, Managing Director
John Fisher founded Fisher & Fisher Associates of Darien in 1992, which merged with Gowrie in 2007. John heads up the company’s personal insurance division. John has nearly forty years of property casualty, risk management, and personal risk advisory insurance experience at the corporate, agency, and individual levels. In 2016, John received the CAPI (Certified Advisor Personal Insurance) designation from the Chubb/Wharton Executive Education program. Jay Madden, Managing Director
Jay Madden’s insurance career began in 1982 in Hartford CT. Prior to joining Gowrie Group in 2019 as the Commercial & Benefits Department Manager, Jay worked as the Director of the Wholesale Division for a national Top 50 Insurance Agency. Jay has extensive and wide-ranging experience in the insurance industry, including marketing, underwriting and client service. Jay’s educational background includes an undergraduate degree from Roger Williams University and various graduate level work. In his free time, Jay enjoys volunteering in the community, reading, learning about local history, and watching classic movies. He currently resides in Jamestown, RI. Skip Young, Managing Director
Skip Young joined Gowrie Group in 1995, and leads the company’s employee benefits and health insurance division, which he grew from the ground up. Gowrie's employee benefits division now provides solutions and consulting to hundreds of companies throughout the New England area. Skip began his insurance career in 1979 at Paul Revere where he managed operations in Connecticut. He is a life-long sailor and competitive racer. Skip resides in Guilford, CT.

Chris Brodeur, Managing Director
Chris Brodeur joined Gowrie Group in 2009, and was named a partner in 2013. With over three decades of experience in the insurance industry, he works with companies of all types on managing risk and creating custom insurance programs. Chris began his insurance career with the Hartford Insurance Company, and later became a partner of a large insurance agency. Chris is active in the local community, and serves on several boards. He graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Business with a major in Risk & Insurance. He resides in Glastonbury, CT.
